Workshop UIC I UIRR

Workshop on intermodal data exchange - UIC IT SG x UIRR

24 February 2026

Workshop
Data sharing across the intermodal chain

On 24 February 2026, the BRIDGE Project brought together Railway Undertakings, Combined Transport Operators, Logistics Service Providers and Terminal Operators to further develop topics related to data exchange and data sharing across the intermodal chain.

This workshop was a follow-up to the initial workshop organised with the UIC in November 2025. The aim was to delve deeper into the topics first introduced, as well as to build on the preliminary results of the sector-wide survey launched in November 2025. Dr Roland Klüber (Consilis) presented these results, providing an initial overview of the current situation regarding digitalisation and data exchange in combined transport.

The workshop focused on three key topics: TSI train running information; reason codes harmonisation needs; and interruption messages.

Participants were invited to share their insights and respond to polls on specific questions to help us gather data during the workshop. This allowed us to see tendencies across various actors of the intermodal chain.
